Meet Valor's New Principal, Dustin Smith

We are so excited to be welcoming Dusty Smith as our new principal, beginning this Fall.

Dusty Smith was born and raised in Ronan, Montana. He graduated from Rocky Mountain College in 2002 with a degree in education and then spent three years working with Youth With a Mission, where he met his wife, Amy. After getting married in 2005, Dusty accepted a job as a high school math teacher and football coach at his alma mater, Ronan High School. Over the next few years, he earned his Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Montana. In 2011, Dusty and Amy moved to Casablanca, Morocco, with their two daughters, Avalyn and Alethea, where Dusty worked as a math teacher, soccer coach, and vice-principal at George Washington Academy. During their eight years in Morocco, the Smith family had two more children, Anissa and Ambree. In 2019, Dusty accepted a position in Montana as the Elementary Principal at Shelby Public Schools. Their youngest daughter, Adelaide, was born three weeks after returning to the United States.

Dusty is excited to join the team at Valor as the High School principal for the 2024/25 school year. Dusty and Amy have five daughters: Avalyn (15), Alethea (14), Anissa (11), Ambree (7), and Adelaide (4). Dusty enjoys archery, reading with his kids, building furniture, drinking coffee, and running.
