Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

This ceremony marks an incredible milestone for our school! We recognize all that God has done over the last 2 years with our high school and now our middle school addition. We praise Him for His abundant blessing: for the provision to allow us to serve our community, for the vibrant students who work hard to stretch and grow, for the incredible families that are faithfully pouring into their children and our school, and for our generous community who have given and prayed for us.

We threw a party! A feast! A celebration! In honor of all that God has done!

It is very fitting that our students are singing Psalm 117, "Praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise Him, all ye people. For His merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Praise ye the Lord! Praise ye the Lord! Praise ye the Lord!"

A message from Principal Smith:

It was great to see so many of you today at the ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of the Junior High grades as we continue our transition from Valor Christian High School to Valor Christian School.

For those of you that were not there today I would like to share with you my remarks from the ceremony:

For generations, some Christians have believed that they could allow their children to take part in the secular educational system and that church attendance would fill in the “gaps”.   This is foolish.  God will not be constrained to the gaps left by the world.  The whole world is created by God, and there are no secular subjects.  Every Christian child should receive a Christian education.  There is a way to teach history, literature, math, science, music, economics, and PE that acknowledges God and his created order and there is a way that ultimately denies his reality.

Valor exists because the families these students represent take seriously their God given responsibility to provide their children with a Christian education.  The ultimate mission of Valor is to prepare these students to live victorious Christian lives!  What will that look like?  I am looking forward to seeing a generation of young men and women who are following Christ as they participate in and lead their local churches, get married, start families, and teach their children the commandments and ways of God.

What I just described is not easily accomplished in a few short years, or with the completion of a specific course catalog.  We believe that with the inclusion of grades 7-12 the teachers of Valor will have more opportunities to develop the reading, reasoning, writing, and persuasion skills that will round out the rigorous Christian education that our graduates will need in order to think and live from a Biblical World view.  We want their lives to be appealing and convincing to family members, friends, and neighbors who are not currently following Christ.

As this work is accomplished over generations, more and more of the families that live in our community and nation will be transformed as they follow Christ!
