You may be wondering about the new sport we are offering Valor and Homeschooling students. For those of you who would like to learn more, we have an informational meeting on May 1, from 11:30-12:30 at the school. You can RSVP here.

Here are some fun facts about the sport:

  • The sport league we are part of is the USA clay target league.

  • The League is the safest sport in high school with more that 125,000 student athlete participants and 75 million shots fired. There have been no reported injuries.

  • This sport is currently the fast growing school sport nationwide.

  • High school senior athletes who are pursuing postsecondary education in environmental sciences or natural resources can apply in May for a scholarship available from the League.

  • Our price is still being determined, but generally, it costs around $350 + uniforms per student.

  • This sport is co-ed and handicap accessible.

  • All student participants are REQUIRED to complete and submit certificates for either one of two League-approved firearm safety certification programs.

  • The League uses a True Team scoring method which emphasizes the top overall team performance, rather than top individuals. This type of scoring is similar to high school swimming and track.

  • Registered student athletes receive accident insurance and each registered coach and volunteer receives liability insurance from the League.

  • Coach Eric Thompson is head coach of this team. There are 1 adult per 10 students athletes.
